Built some time in the 1930s, perhaps to house the pleasure boat of some affluent local, it’s changed hands numerous times, as well as undergoing various repairs and renovations over the decades after storms and floods.
The boatshed and boardwalk has been decked out with red wrapping and coverings. This “Redness” is in support and recognition of the Manchester United Football Club preseason tour. The tour will be in Western Australia for 10 days. The Red Devils played Perth Glory on Saturday 13th July (Man United 2 v Perth Glory 0). The next game will pit United against their old enemy – Leeds United. Less said about that historical rivalry.
The Boatshed was invaded by tourists eager to get their pictures snapped at the landmark. Today they collected a bonus. Three players from United were there doing their bit for anglo aussie relations.
