For today, we explored further afield. An area called Nanarup.

Nanarup

Nanarup is a small Western Australian Rural Location within the local government area of Albany, it is located approximately 393kms from the capital Perth covering an area of 72.866 square kilometres. Nanarup has a recorded population of 33 residents and is within the Australian Western Standard Time zone Australia/Perth.

Ledge Point

Ledge Beach is a day use site with access to the beach from the loop carpark. Visitors can enjoy fishing and swimming here or just beach combing. Although horse riding is allowed this activity is restricted to the western end of the beach between 6am and 9am.

Nanarup Beach

Nanarup Beach is off-the-beaten-track yet well worth a visit. Travel north-east from Albany City Centre and cross the Oyster Harbour bridge towards Nanarup and Two Peoples Bay. Nanarup Beach is a popular fishing and four-wheel driving location. There is a long beautiful white sandy beach at Nanarup. With picnic and barbecues and easy stairway access, it’s a delightful place to stop for lunch.

Little Beach

Little Beach is the most picturesque perfect, magical beach in Western Australia. With a combination of white sand, azure water, granite headlands & greenery, it easily surpasses some of the famous beaches around the world.

Eclipse Island Road (Sharp Point Lookout)

The Sharp Point Walk Trail is a short 250m loop trail in Torndirrup National Park providing awe-inspiring coastal views out to The Gap and Peak Head in the south-east and out to the Albany Wind Farm in the south-west. Torndirrup National Park, windswept coastal heaths give way to massive granite outcrops, sheer cliffs and steep, sandy slopes and dunes. There are a number of stunning lookouts and walk trails in the park, including Sharp Point and whales are frequently seen from the cliffs, particularly during winter.

Mistaken Island Beach

Mistaken Island is an island located approximately 5 kilometres south-east of Albany, Western Australia. Located in King George Sound the island is located approximately 120 metres from Vancouver peninsula. In 1971, the island was declared as a class 1A Nature Reserve with a total area of 12 hectares The area adjacent to the island is used to cultivate mussels on long lines.

Fisherman’s Beach

Absolute pristine white sand, waves gently crash on the rocks and the beach, perfect for your little explorers, and perfect sand consistency for sand sculpture.
